What does “break-even” mean here?
The model compares the cost of access and an assumed amount of paid generation. At higher output volumes, one-time software access with direct provider billing can become attractive. At lower volumes, a monthly plan with credits may be more convenient even if its accounting cost per generated video is higher. The comparison does not value time saved, stock licensing, model quality or customer support.
Read the assumptions before deciding
BuildTuber Pro is modelled as a $49.99 monthly plan with $25 in monthly generation credits. Lifetime is modelled as a $99 one-time access purchase plus direct provider usage. Both are subject to current plan entitlements, supported providers and feature limits. A third-party subscription may use an entirely different credit unit, so enter a dollar-equivalent allowance only if it can be verified.
The generation is the same under Pro and Lifetime, but it is not paid for the same way. On Lifetime you buy it from the provider with your own key, at the provider's price. On Pro the included $25is part of the monthly fee, and anything beyond it is bought in top-up packs from BuildTuber: $10 for $5, $25 for $15, $50 for $35. That is between about $1.43 and $2.00 for every dollar of credit, which is the main reason Lifetime is cheaper to generate on, and why the two plans can differ by more than the price of access. Frequently asked questions
Do unused BuildTuber credits roll over?
Yes, up to a $50 balance. This calculator models a single month and does not carry a balance forward, and a rolling balance would change longer-term totals. The current Plans screen in the app is the authority on the policy.
Does the Lifetime purchase make generation free?
No. Provider charges still apply. The monthly-equivalent calculation merely spreads the one-time software purchase across a period you select.
Why can a subscription be better despite a higher per-video calculation?
Convenience, included models, storage, stock libraries, support, editing tools and lower setup effort have value. The calculator focuses on a specific financial scenario, not the whole customer experience.
